Sweets, Suffrage and Civil Unrest

We are once again working in collaboration with Hull Community Theatre to produce a show based around local history.

This time the events are set in the period from 1900 to 1936 and are based around the experiences of women’s workers in the Needlers seats factory in Hull.

We cover such themes are the fight for women’s rights and the strikes of 1911 and 1926 along with the rise of Fascism.

Although many of the events took place over 100 years ago, they are surprisingly relevant to the world of today……..

The show also features some of the protest songs of that era along with a couple of self penned numbers.

The show will be performed at a variety of locations in Hull and Hedon during September 2025.
